Michael Owen Included In Stoke City 25-Man Squad
Michael Owen as been included in Stoke City FC 25-man squad.
The 32-year-old England player as been Tony pill's target for long and as finaly been included in Stoke's 25-man squad.
Michael's transfer paper work was said to have been released two minute before transfer deadline on Monday, but agreeably he's a plus for the Stokes.
According to brief statement read;‘The Premier League board has confirmed to Stoke City the registration of Michael Owen. Consequently, he will be involved in their 25-man playing squad.’
Though michael's inclusion on Stoke City list has been a controversial one for the Premiereship League Board but everything was cleared after all.
'Pulis' expressed is views on the issue when interview saying:‘It’s a great signing for Stoke City. Obviously, we have got to get him on the pitch. We have to get him fit. That’s the important thing.
'I think Michael has the bit between his teeth. When Manchester United announced they were going to release him, I rang him up and went and spoke to him. He came over as a very honourable lad and I thought, “Good kid.” Everyone speaks highly of him and he just seems to want to play football.
‘He was actually available for a lot of Manchester United matches last season but wasn’t selected. People say he only played so many games. He was available for a lot more. And we think he’s the perfect role model.
‘He’s more than just an impact sub. We want him in the team and playing.’
And Owen who is up for a promising future at the Britannia Stadium expressed himself to the press.
'I’m delighted to have signed for Stoke City,' he said.
'We have been in talks for a while and it was a club I was always keen to join. I’m particularly excited at the prospect of working under Tony Pulis; he has assembled a great squad that I look forward to joining.
'I’m now looking forward to contributing as much as possible to the Club and can’t wait to play in front of a great set of supporters.'
